How Does JUVÉDERM Work?
JUVÉDERM treatments typically take only 15 – 30 minutes, depending on how many areas are being treated. Your skin will be cleaned, and injection sites will be marked. To minimize discomfort throughout the procedure, JUVÉDERM fillers contain a local anesthetic. Following your treatment, you can return to your regular routine; however, strenuous activity such as exercise should be avoided for at least a day. You should be careful not to touch your face after your injections to prevent moving the filler into unintended areas.

Are JUVÉDERM injections painful?
Although many patients do not think it's needed, a local anesthetic can be applied to the treatment area before injection if you are concerned about discomfort. After the injection, you might experience mild to moderate bruising and swelling that should subside within a week.
